First Day of School!
Where did the summer go?? First day of 3rd and 7th. Becca has Mrs. Kepley, same as Ben had for 3rd. She said her first day was great! Ben had most of his classes today except for Spanish and Science which he has tomorrow, and already has homework in multiple classes. Another school year here we come, ready or not!

Photo Shoot
We had a photo shoot yesterday morning with the mom of one of Caroline's school friends who does photography on the side. If the few "preview" pictures I have gotten so far are any indication, it was much more successful than our previous attempts ;) Can't wait to see the rest!

Lucy Update
Lucy went for her last round of vaccinations this morning. She was purring so loud the vet could not hear a thing when he tried listening to her heart and lungs. She also purred all the way through the shots! She weighs over 5 pounds now and is very playful and snuggly! Here is Ben pretending to be a "Mommy kangaroo" -- yes he was actually hopping around like a kangaroo with Lucy tucked into his shirt!

Weekend Wrap-up
Thursday we were able to get our DirecTV fixed (receiver in the living room needed to be replaced) and Friday we were able to get our downstairs AC unit fixed (Needed a new capacitor and a new breaker but fortunately it was an easy fix). In addition to the Dixie Chicks concert Saturday night, Caroline and Becca went to Caroline's friend Beyla's birthday party, Ben saw the movie Suicide Squad, and we spent a relaxing afternoon yesterday at the community pool. This week is Becca's last week of camp, and Ben is home this week finishing up his summer reading. The summer is flying by! School starts two weeks from today!
Dixie Chicks Concert
Abby and I got to see the Dixie Chicks in concert Saturday night! It was too hot and we stayed out too late! But it was a great concert!

Mid Week Blues
One of our tvs is on the fritz and our downstairs a/c is not working! I went out and got a portable unit for our bedroom since the repair guy can't come till Friday. And, you know, Joel and I cannot sleep at all if the temperature in our bedroom is over, say, 72 degrees ;) Once we're done with the unit downstairs we can use it upstairs in the bonus room where it's perpetually too hot in summer.

Margaritaville
I owed Abby six margaritas, one for each pile of cat poop she had to clean up off the floor while we were in Aruba ;) she made it to four! I drank the other two :)

Got my Boy Back too!
From his visit with uncle Mike and aunt Kathleen! He had a great time and Kathleen kept me well supplied with pictures of their adventures, many of which seem to revolve around eating :)
Got Our Girl Back!
After an exhausting day of travel home from Aruba Saturday we set out bright and early Sunday to collect Becca and her three weeks of dirty laundry from camp! She had a wonderful time there and has had so much to tell us about the friends she made and all the things she got to do!
